Either he didn't see the recession coming - in which case he is thick, or he thought he could improve poll ratings in a recession, in which case he is mad. Maybe he is both. Another suggestion is that most Labour MPs wanted to wait, in which case they are mad and/or thick as well. Clearly Brown has to go, if Labour are going to have any hope, but somehow it looks like they will keep him, why?Neil Hardinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01333739272733802133noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3881762807913180318.post-62559989557110315962009-08-09T23:19:55.019+01:002009-08-09T23:19:55.019+01:00I entirely agree. A large majority is very damaging for democracy as the ruling party can ram through its agenda with no opposition.

That is why I will be voting UKIP, should the Conservatives seem likely to achieve an obscene majority. I hope others will follow suit (with the 'marginal' party of their choice).

Labour's 'government' has shown us just how dangerous this can be.

Purnell and Milliband might find that Labour's annihilation works in their favour. Should either of them achieve leadership, they can probably rewrite Labour's constitution.Faustyhttp://faustiesblog.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.com
