50 reasons to legalise cannabis/keep it illegal

The Radiology Degree blog today has a list of 25 reasons to legalise cannabis and 25 reasons to keep it illegal.

Whilst I would argue quite strongly against many of the reasons given in the latter half of the list to keep it illegal, e.g. "Smoking pot doesn't cure brain cancer" (by that logic we would ban every substance on earth!) it is an interesting read which also includes links for every single point made to the source information.

i cant beleive people want this narcotic made legal. my brother is a regular user of pot and has basically had his life ruined as a result. he has spent the last 15 years in and out of hospital has been sectioned numerous times suffering with scizophrenia. the main cause, of pretty much all the people he is sharing the picu unit in liverpool with, is the use of marajuana. when he smokes weed hes a mess he gets sectioned for 6 months cleans up and comes out acting like my brother again. then he proceeds to smoke weed and deteriate over a period of 12 months or so to the point my mum and dad cant cope with his behaviour and the health proffesionals are worried about his health again ultimatly he gets sectioned again for months on end. ive seen first-hand the effects of weed and it is far from harmless as some would have you beleive.
